Alipurduar, 06th December: The Forest Department has demolished an illegal car showroom built on its land in Alipurduar district. The showroom, located in the Garam Basti area of the Kalchini block along National Highway 31, was constructed without permission on land owned by the Forest Department.
On Friday morning, a team of officials and forest workers from the Buxa Tiger Reserve Forest Division launched an operation to remove the illegal establishment. Four JCB machines were used to demolish the showroom, and a large police presence was deployed to prevent any untoward incidents.
Reports indicate that the showroom had been established several years ago. However, a recent survey revealed that the land belonged to the Forest Department, prompting the authorities to take action against the illegal accommodation.
