Alipurduar, 27th November: Police from Jaigaon police station arrested four individuals with 250 grams of brown sugar, preventing its smuggling to Bhutan. The accused were presented in Alipurduar court on Wednesday.
According to reports, the four suspects were traveling in a small car from Siliguri to Jaigaon when they were intercepted by police at GST More in Jaigaon. Upon searching the vehicle, 250 grams of brown sugar was recovered, leading to their arrest.
Sources revealed that the contraband was intended to be smuggled into Bhutan. The arrested individuals are residents of Jaigaon and its neighboring areas. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
