Alipurduar, 06th December: A civic volunteer lost his life after being struck by a trailer on the National Highway in the Salsala Bari area, under the jurisdiction of Samuktala Police Station in Alipurduar. The deceased has been identified as Bishwajit Goswami, a resident of Majherdabri.
According to reports, Bishwajit was controlling traffic on the national highway in the Salsala Bari area on Friday morning when a 16-wheeler trailer, traveling from Assam to Siliguri, struck him from behind. Consequently, he sustained serious injuries in the incident. Locals quickly rushed to his aid and transported him to Alipurduar District Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
