Rajganj, 13th July: The traditional Raja Falakata Puja was conducted in Ambari, marking the beginning of the customary plantation of Aman paddy in the region. The custom is traditionally observed in Ambari and its adjoining areas annually in the Bengali month of Asharh (June-July).
Reportedly, locals prepare three idols named Raja Falakata, Tulakata, and Dhanakata for worship in the Chatkiavita area of Rajganj Block. The members of the Puja committee explained that historically, the area was surrounded by dense forests inhabited by various wild animals, including tigers. The present site where Raja Falakata Puja occurs was once devoted to the Choudhurani deity.
