Siliguri, 14th May: Happiness swept across Siliguri after the announcement of the Higher Secondary Examination 2026 results, as Srayashi Shil of the city secured the 8th rank in the state. A resident of the Ektiasal area, Srayashi’s achievement brought pride to the entire city and visitors started gathering at her residence to congratulate her and her family.
Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, who is currently in Kolkata for official work, spoke to Srayashi and her family through a video call and extended his congratulations. He wished her success in the future and assured all possible support for her higher studies.
Following the MLA’s instructions, a BJP delegation visited Srayashi’s residence and felicitated her with flowers, an uttariya and sweets.
Shankar Ghosh said Srayashi’s achievement is a matter of pride for the entire Siliguri and proves that hard work and talent have no substitute.
Srayashi Shil and her family became emotional after receiving the honour. Srayashi said she is happy with her success and wants to perform even better in the future to serve the country. Enthusiasm over her achievement was also seen among local residents.
