Siliguri, 16th May: Marking National Dengue Day, Farabari Mahadev Sporting Club along with a voluntary organisation organised an awareness rally in Siliguri to spread messages on dengue prevention and public health awareness. Students also took part in the rally.
The rally passed through several important roads and localities, spreading awareness among residents about preventive measures against dengue. Participants urged people not to allow waterlogging around homes, maintain cleanliness regularly and use mosquito nets or repellents whenever necessary.
Organisers stated that creating awareness about dengue is extremely important, especially before the monsoon season. They said such initiatives help encourage people to remain alert and take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
Many residents welcomed the initiative and said regular awareness programmes of this kind could play an important role in dengue prevention across the area.
