Siliguri, 16th April: Thieves broke into a house in NJP Bhakti Nagar Deshpriya Sarani of Ward No. 34 in Siliguri and committed theft. The family members were sleeping at the time of the incident. A complaint was lodged at the police station after the theft was discovered in the morning.
As per reports, a gang of thieves entered the house while the family was sleeping and allegedly sprayed on the family members and fled with gold jewellery, cash and many valuables worth lakhs of rupees. This theft incident took place at the house of Asit Malakar, a resident of the area.
On Tuesday night, Asit Malakar and other members of the family went to sleep after having dinner. When he woke up the next morning, he saw that the door of the house and the door of the cupboard were broken. All the items of the house were scattered. After which he came to know about the theft.
Asit Malakar stated that due to the heat the windows were left open. The thieves came in through the window and opened the door of the house. However, they did not hear any sound at night. They suspect that something was sprayed on them while they were sleeping. The family members and local residents are in panic due to the incident.
A complaint has been lodged in this regard at the NJP police station. Based on the complaint, the police have started investigating the entire incident.
