Bagdogra, 07th August: Police in plain clothes from Bagdogra Police Station have cracked a series of cycle theft cases reported over the past two months from the Bengdubi Army Camp and nearby areas.
Reportedly, the alleged mastermind behind the thefts, identified as Ravi Lohar from the Kamalpur Tea Estate area of Bagdogra, has been arrested. During the operation, police recovered 21 stolen bicycles suspected to have been lifted from the army camp area and various other locations.
Following multiple complaints, Bagdogra Police launched an investigation which led to the arrest. The accused was produced before the Siliguri court on Thursday. Police will seek his remand for further investigation into the network involved.
