Siliguri, 02nd May: Ahead of the vote counting scheduled on 4th May, Congress candidates visited the strongroom in Siliguri to review security arrangements and the overall situation. On Saturday morning, Siliguri Assembly Constituency candidate Aloke Dhara, Matigara-Naxalbari candidate Amitava Sarkar, and Phansidewa candidate Navaneeta Tirkey inspected the strongroom at Siliguri College.
The candidates examined security measures, CCTV surveillance, and the deployment of central forces. Emphasising the importance of this crucial post-election phase, they stressed the need for regular monitoring in line with Election Commission guidelines to ensure the safety of voting machines.
The Congress candidates stated that such inspections are vital to ensure a transparent and fair counting process.
