Alipurduar, 23rd August: A youth was tragically killed in a hit-and-run on the national highway in the Gurudwara area of Hasimara, Kalchini block in the Alipuruduar district. The deceased, identified as Kamal Das, was a resident of Madhya Satali in the Kalchini block.
The incident occurred on Thursday night when Kamal Das, who had gotten off a train from Nagrakata to the Hasimara station, was walking home along the national highway. During this, a vehicle hit him, ran over him, and then fled the scene. As a result, Kamal Das immediately succumbed on the spot.
