Alipurduar, 16th August: The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) organized a rally in Alipurduar to support the 12-hour Bengal bandh called in protest against the RG Kar Medical College incident.

Since Friday morning, SUCI supporters marched through Buxa Feeder Road, demanding swift action against those responsible for the death of the doctor at RG Kar Medical College. Despite the rally, the bandh had minimal impact in Alipurduar. Most shops remained open, and buses and other vehicles of the North Bengal State Transport Corporation were seen operating as usual. Only private bus services were halted in the area.
