Naxalbari, 12th May: Two Thailand nationals, a Nepal resident and one Indian citizen were apprehended during an alleged illegal infiltration attempt in the Rathkhola area of Naxalbari.
The detained individuals have been identified as Nusra Kingwan and Shaoni Chalasia, both residents of Thailand. The others were identified as Shrestha Bhartali, a resident of Nepal, and Mohammad Soleman, an Indian citizen. Several documents were recovered from their possession.
According to sources, SSB personnel intercepted the four individuals while they were allegedly attempting to enter India illegally. They were later handed over to Naxalbari police for further action.
Police said one of the Thailand nationals was carrying an Indian visa, while the other had an e-visa. A four-wheeler vehicle has also been seized in connection with the incident.
Police have started an investigation into the matter.
