Naxalbari, 14th July: Tension flared in Naxalbari after locals alleged that a mobile tower was being installed illegally on the rooftop of a four-storey building.
According to residents, the tower installation work was started without any official permission. The incident took place in the Purba Babupara area, where locals claimed that despite an existing mobile tower nearby, another one was being set up secretly during the night.

Concerned over health risks and legal violations, residents filed complaints with the Naxalbari Gram Panchayat, the Block Development Officer (BDO), and the local police station, demanding immediate action to stop the construction.
On Sunday night, when representatives of the contractor company arrived to continue the work, they faced strong resistance from locals and had to leave the area. The situation led to heightened tension, prompting police from Naxalbari police station to reach the spot and bring the situation under control.
No statement has been received from the house owner regarding the allegations.
