Siliguri, 05th May: Tension erupted in the Dabgram-Fulbari Assembly area on Monday night following the announcement of election results. An alleged incident of vandalism was reported at a Trinamool Congress party office near Kankata More along the Eastern Bypass.
According to allegations, a group of BJP workers reached the spot, broke open the lock of the office and carried out extensive vandalism. Furniture and other materials inside the office were reportedly damaged.
BJP flags were allegedly put up outside the office, while TMC banners were torn down.
It has also been alleged that fire was set on the road outside the office, further escalating the situation and creating panic in the area.
Upon receiving information, police from Ashighar Outpost along with central forces rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
