Despite four days of searching, no trace of him has been found. Gautam, a resident of Durgadas Colony in Ward No. 20 of Siliguri, was last seen on Wednesday afternoon when he went out with five friends in an e-rickshaw.
According to family sources, Gautam called his wife during the outing, claiming that two of his friends had assaulted him. His phone was switched off shortly after the call, raising concerns. When he failed to return home by evening, his family filed a complaint at the NJP police station.
In response, the police launched an investigation and arrested five of his friends. On Saturday, the police and disaster management team conducted a search operation in the Fulbari Teesta Canal, where Gautam is suspected to have gone missing. The search continues as authorities work to uncover what happened.
