Rajganj, 02nd May: A theft at the historic and well-known Kali temple in Rajganj market has created tension in the area after miscreants stole gold eyes and a tikli from the idol of Maa Kali and fled, leaving devotees and locals disturbed. The temple, located just a short distance from the police station, is one of the oldest and most revered religious sites in the region, attracting a large number of devotees daily.
According to local sources, the incident came to light on Saturday morning when the priest arrived at the temple and found that the ‘gold eyes’ and ‘tikli’ from the idol were missing. The priest also discovered that the room where he stays had been ransacked and belongings were scattered.
Preliminary suspicion suggests that the theft may have taken place late Friday night, taking advantage of heavy rainfall in the area. Following the incident, a written complaint was lodged at Rajganj police station, after which police initiated an investigation into the matter.
