Rajganj, 27th April: A passenger bus met with an accident while trying to avoid hitting a cow near the Fulbari barrage area on the outskirts of Siliguri. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
According to local sources, the bus was returning to Cooch Behar after dropping off polling personnel in Berhampore. While passing through the Fulbari barrage stretch, a cow suddenly came in front of the vehicle. In an attempt to save the animal, the driver lost control and the bus tilted towards the roadside. The driver and conductor of the bus narrowly escaped unhurt.
Police from New Jalpaiguri police station rushed to the spot after receiving information and took stock of the situation.
