Kalchini, 10th April: A truck driver died, while three others were severely injured after two trucks collided head-on this morning on National Highway number 31 of North Mendabari area under Kalchini block.
According to local sources, the trucks crashed into each other due to which the driver, identified as Alishan, died on the spot. Three others travelling in the trucks were injured. They were rescued and taken to Alipurduar District Hospital, where one was referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital after his condition deteriorated. Meanwhile, the police took both the vehicle into possession and are investigating the matter.
