Alipurduar, 28th March: The strike called by the central trade union had a mixed effect across Alipurduar district.
On Monday morning, the bandh supporters took to the streets in support of the strike and carried out picketing in the Chowpatty area of Alipurduar. Only government buses were seen plying on the roads.
On the other hand, the supporters staged a rally in support of the strike in Falakata. Although government buses were plying, no private buses were seen. The strike drew a mixed effect in all parts of Alipurduar district including Hamiltontganj, Kalchini, and Madarihat.
