Siliguri, 06th May: The ABVP has made it clear that no form of political influence or colour will be tolerated in educational institutions. The statement was made during a press conference held at Vidyarthi Kalyan Bhavan in Babupara, Siliguri.
National Executive Member Pooja Ram and State Secretary Deep Dutta were present at the briefing. The organisation reiterated its firm stand on keeping campuses free from political interference.
ABVP leaders stated that the interests of students must come first and emphasised the need to keep educational spaces free from politics.
They also announced that a membership drive will be launched soon across various educational institutions to strengthen the organisation’s presence in colleges and universities across the state.
Additionally, the demand for immediate student union elections in colleges was raised during the press conference.
