Forest Department begins awareness in Alipurduar ahead of Holi to stop hunting

Alipurduar,12th March: The forest department is spreading awareness in forest settlements and tea garden areas of Alipurduar district by miking and distributing pamphlets to discourage people not to enter the forest and indulge in hunting activities.

Additionally, the Forest officials made locals aware that trespassing the forest is a punishable offense, if anyone is caught, a case will be registered against them.

Reportedly, in some communities, a hunting festival is observed before Holi.
