Cooch Behar, 17th March: A major fire broke out in a private plywood factory at Jorai More under Bakshirhat police station, enclosing the Assam-Bengal border on Wednesday morning. The factory is staffed by 1,200 workers.

Reportedly, the workers of the factory spotted the fire when they arrived for work in the morning. Following this, they hurriedly informed the police and fire department.
Five fire engines reached the spot and were still reportedly trying to extinguish the fire till the time of going to press. The cause of the fire is not known yet.
