Cooch Behar: Sensation prevailed in the area after firearms were recovered from an ambulance and five people were taken into custody in this regard. The accused have been identified as Rahul Haque, Bappa Rahman, Shahid Hussain, Zaheerul Haque, and Saddam Hussain.
Reportedly, on Wednesday night, the police of Cooch Behar Kotwali police station intercepted an ambulance on the basis of tip-off. Upon conducting a search, a 09 mm pistol along with sharp weapons were recovered from the ambulance. Five people in the ambulance were arrested.
As per the police sources, the accused were planning a robbery in Baruipara area of Mathabhanga Cooch Behar State Road. On receiving information about the same, the police launched a campaign and arrested five people. The police are probing the entire incident.
