Cooch Behar, 19th March: Allegations have surfaced against TMC workers for displaying black flags during BJP MLA’s ‘Booth Sashaktikaran’ drive in Cooch Behar’s Ghughumari Palpara area.

Reportedly, BJP MLA from Cooch Behar’s South constituency, Nikhil Ranjan Dey was at booth number 169 of Ghughumari Palpara this morning at a worker’s house for the ‘Booth Sashaktikaran’ program. During this, TMC workers in the area suddenly displayed black flags with ‘Go Back’ slogans. It is also alleged that the TMC workers also verbally abused the MLA.
Later, when the police were informed, the Kotwali police of Cooch Behar dispersed the TMC workers from the spot. However, on the other hand, TMC has denied all the said allegations. In this regard, Cooch Behar No. 1 Block-A TMC President Jyotirmoy Das said that the BJP MLA is creating completely baseless allegations. He added that the MLA was not spotted with the common people in the area thus the common people have expressed anger by displaying flags and slogans.
