Siliguri, 10th May: Panic spread across the Pradhanpara Pipeline area of Siliguri late on Saturday night after a suspicious object was discovered in the locality, triggering a major security response.
According to reports, residents first noticed the and immediately alerted the authorities. Following the information, police personnel from Bhaktinagar Police Station rushed to the spot and cordoned off the entire area as a precautionary measure. A large contingent of central forces was also deployed at the site to maintain security.
Later, an Army Bomb Disposal Team arrived at the scene, recovered the suspicious object, and took it away for further examination. Preliminary investigations suggest that the object is an artillery shell.
