50 families facing water scarcity in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 05th April: 50 families are facing water scarcity in Ketugabur Jote under Maniram Gram Panchayat of Naxalbari. Reportedly, the Backward Classes Welfare Department (BCW) office is doing construction of new road in the area. Due to the construction, the drinking water pipe burst.

Local residents alleged that the water pipe had been damaged a month ago, However, it has not been repaired yet. Despite informing the Public Health and Engineering (PHE) Department several times, no action has been taken.

Reportedly, local residents have demanded an immediate solution to the problem. Goutam Ghosh, Pradhan of Maniram Gram Panchayat stated that the pipe burst during the road construction and no complaint has been lodged in the Gram Panchayat.

Following the complaint, Ghosh stated that he went for the inspection, and the problem has been informed to the PHE Department. He further reassured that immediate action will be taken to resolve the water crisis in the area.
