Mirik, 10th April: Trinamool Congress supporters from Mirik Municipality’s Ward No. 01 joined the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (Binay faction) this evening in the presence of General Secretary of Anit Thapa.
The move comes after Hill TMC leader and Mirik Municipality chairman L. B. Rai recently extended his support to Bimal Gurung led GJM in the assembly election. Several reports of TMC supporters protesting the decision also surfaced. The new members who were inducted into the Binay faction today too opposed the decision of Rai and stated that they have left the party in protest.
