Kalchini, 07th November: A tragic road accident on the Asian Highway under the Kalchini area claimed the life of a youth.
Reportedly, on Sunday evening, the said youth, a resident of the Dalsingpara station line area of Kalchini block was heading to Hasimara from Dalsingpara in a scooty. On his way, a vehicle hit his scooty from behind and fled. The youth sustained serious injuries in the said incident.
Locals and Hasimara Out Post police rescued the youth and took him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries last night during treatment. Today, Hasimara Out Post police recovered the body and sent it to Alipurduar District Hospital for post-mortem. Police are probing the whole matter.
