Rajganj, 10th May: A young woman was critically injured after being brutally attacked with a sharp weapon in the Baksidanga area of Rajganj, sparking widespread sensation and concern in the locality. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Fulbari, where her condition remains critical.
According to local sources, the incident took place on Saturday morning when the woman had gone out to fetch water with a neighborhood friend. Suddenly, a young man arrived on a bike, blocked her path, and without warning, began attacking her repeatedly with a sharp weapon. The woman collapsed to the ground, bleeding. Her friend raised an alarm, drawing the attention of locals, who rushed the victim to the hospital.
In response to the incident, Rajganj police arrived at the scene, recovered the accused’s motorcycle, and took it to the police station. However, the accused youth and his family have gone into hiding, and police efforts to trace them are underway.
