Woman commits suicide after killing 4-year-old daughter in Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar, 10th April: In tragic turn of events, a woman committed suicide after killing her four-year-old daughter. The incident triggering shock and dismay in the locality of Panch Taltala in Cooch Behar.

According to police sources, Soma Sarkar allegedly killed her daughter, Sayantika Sarkar, aged 4, before taking her own life. The incident was reported to the police early on Wednesday morning. Police arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies of the mother and daughter. Additionally, a suicide note was also found at the scene.

The husband of the deceased, Manik Sarkar, was not present at home at the time of the incident. Initial investigations indicate that the mother was suffering from mental distress leading to the occurrence to the tragic event. At present, the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the entire incident.
