Darjeeling, 12th July: Swearing-in ceremony for the new Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Sabha was held today in Darjeeling. Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) President Anit Thapa along with the other elected representatives took oath in presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
It is to be noted, the GTA election was held on June 26 and the results were declared on June 29. Anit Thapa-led BGPM won the election with a huge majority. The CM congratulated Thapa while she was attending an administrative meeting on the result day. Following this, Banerjee reached the hills on Monday and attended the swearing-in program of GTA today. While addressing the gathering at Chowrasta, the Chief Minister threw light on various development projects catered for the hills.
