Cooch Behar, 4th October: The water level of Teesta River is on the rise in Cooch Behar. Consequently, a significant portion of an area of Mekhliganj in the Cooch Behar district has been swept away by the river. Following the disastrous flash flood in Sikkim, the water level of the Teesta River has also increased in North Bengal.
As per reports, several areas along the Teesta River were submerged following the flash flood in Sikkim. Subsequently, the residents of the area adjacent to the Teesta River are being transported to a safer location.
