Alipurduar, 14th August: Sensation prevailed after the body of an unidentified individual was found in Samuktala’s Shaktinagar adjacent area in the Alipurduar district.
As per reports, on Monday morning, the locals spotted the lifeless body afloat in the Dharsi River located in the said area. Subsequently, the matter was informed to Samuktala Police Station. Upon receiving the news of the incident, police arrived at the spot and recovered the deceased body.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the person might have been a worker in a nearby tea garden. In addition, the presence of plastic fastened to the waist of the deceased suggests that the incident might have occurred during fishing activity. After the recovery, the body was sent to Alipurduar District Hospital for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the incident.
