Mathabhanga, 26th December: The Trinamool Congress staged a sit-in protest at the Mela grounds adjacent to the Mathabhanga police station protesting against the vandalism of three TMC offices in Mathabhanga and BJP’s unbridled terror.

The TMC activists alleged that several BJP supporters and activists vandalized several houses, shops, cars, and the TMC party office, during BJP’s Mathabhanga police station gherao yesterday.
The Trinamool Congress staged a sit-in protest demanding the arrest of the culprits and provide them appropriate punishment. North Bengal Development Minister Rabindranath Ghosh, Backward Classes Welfare Minister Binoy Krishna Barman, MLA Hiten Barman, Trinamool district president Parthapratim Roy and several party supporters were present during the demonstration. However, the Mathabhanga police arrested a total of 14 people in this incident.
North Bengal Development Minister Rabindranath Ghosh highly condemned the incident and said that the way in which BJP activists created unrest in Mathabhanga and closed Mathabhanga Bazaar, the traders suffered losses. Hence, a sit-in protest was staged today at the Mathabhanga Mela grounds following the instructions of CM Mamata Banerjee.
