Alipurduar, 13th July: A rickshaw driver mercilessly beat a dog to death in broad daylight in Hamiltonganj under Kalchini Block of Alipurduar district.
Local animal enthusiast filed a written complaint against the accused Anil Sarkar at the Kalchini police station after the gruesome video went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Anil Sarkar has been absconding since the incident. Sarkar allegedly killed many stray dogs in the past too, but every time he managed to escape any punishment due to lack of evidence.
The police have registered a case under the Cruelty to Animals Act against the Sarkar. Police are looking for the accused.
