Alipurduar, 06th January: The news of an unfortunate road accident has come fore from the Asian Highway in Madarihat of Alipurduar district. People going for a picnic became victims of a road accident and about 25 people were injured.

Reportedly, on Friday morning, 30 to 40 people were heading to Siliguri for a picnic in a bus from Parokata in the middle of Kamakhyaguri. While on their way, the bus collided head-on with a stone-laden truck coming from the opposite direction.
25 people on board the bus sustained injuries. Some of them are said to be in a critical state. After the incident, residents and Madarihat police station reached the spot and recovered the injured, and sent them to Madarihat hospital. Some of the seriously injured people have been referred to Alipurduar District Hospital. The police are probing the entire incident.
