Alipurduar, 25th September: A tragic incident unfolded where an individual lost his life in a road accident in front of Barobisha-Assam Road Banijya Kendra in Kumargram block of Alipurduar.
According to reports, on Monday, a container truck rammed into an individual while crossing National Highway (NH) No. 31 resulting in his death. Notably, due to the weekly Barobisha weekly market the area was comparatively more crowded than the other days.

Upon receiving the news, police arrived at the scene and took the container driver into custody. However, at the time of the report, the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained.
In this regard, local traders alleged that the market was set up during the pandemic. They added that currently there are no pandemic restrictions yet the market continues to exist resulting in frequent accidents.
