Alipurduar, 26th February: An individual has been arrested for rape and murder of an 8-year-old child in the Lal School area of Barobisha in Alipurduar. The deceased child has been identified as Pompi Barman, a student of class 3. The accused arrested has been identified as Shambhu Roy.
According to sources, Pompi had gone out to play, on Tuesday after school. When she did not return home, her family members started looking for her. Meanwhile, Shambhu’s wife informed that her husband, Shambhu, had found a shoe on the road. Pompi’s family members claimed that the shoe belonged to Pompi and informed the matter to the police.
