Newborn found inside a bag near Hanuman temple in Mallaguri, Siliguri

Siliguri, 18th April: Panic gripped the Mallaguri area of Siliguri after a newborn baby was found inside a bag near the Hanuman temple on Friday.

As per reports, a mentally unstable individual was seen wandering near the temple with a bag, which raised suspicion among local residents. Alerted by the man’s unusual behavior, the locals promptly informed the police.

Upon receiving the information, personnel from Pradhan Nagar police station rushed to the spot and found the newborn inside the bag. The baby was immediately rescued and taken to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment.

However, due to the critical condition of the newborn, the infant was later referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for further care. The police have taken the individual into custody and are investigating the case using CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
