Siliguri, 23rd January: During the Netaji Jayanti programme organized at the Darjeeling Mall, today, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, proposed that the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose should be declared a national holiday.
Banerjee was quoted saying,”I have been saying that a holiday should be declared on 23rd January, but it has not happened yet. Since coming to power at the Center, BJP has been shuffling Netaji’s file around, and the reason behind Netaji’s death has not been clarified yet, and it is a shame for us”. The Chief Minister further added, “No one can take away Netaji’s place in our heart. We will follow the path shown by him”.
