Karnataka, 21st March: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista and Karnataka CM B. S. Yediyurappa extended a helping hand to rescue four nursing students, hailing from Darjeeling and Kalimpong, stranded in Karnataka amid the coronavirus outbreak.
On Saturday, the nursing students, studying in the Yelahanka city, posted a video thanking the respective Ministers and expressed their gratitude towards their swift action. In the video, the girls stated that after the Karnataka government, on March 13, directed for the shut down of malls, theatres, all educational institutes and commercial establishments to curb the spread of the coronavirus, they were informed by their Principal that they could stay in the hostel while the institution remained closed. But later, the students were asked to vacate the premises by Monday.
