Naxalbari, 07th February: Anandamay Barman, MLA of Matigara-Naxalbari constituency, on Saturday visited the site of a devastating fire in Naxalbari. He was accompanied by Naxalbari Panchayat Samiti member Shailen Roy and other local leaders.
During the visit, the MLA spoke with the affected family and provided financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to each family member. He assured that further support would be extended in rebuilding their house in the coming days.

Addressing the difficulties faced by fire services in reaching the congested area, Barman criticised the ruling Trinamool Congress, saying that settlements were being developed without proper planning during their tenure. He added that under a future BJP government, road expansion and better infrastructure would be implemented to prevent such incidents.
