Naxalbari, 14th May: A man has been arrested on charges of raping his neighbour. The incident occured at Kiran Chandra Tea Estate in Naxalbari. The accused has been identified as Jagapati Munda.
According to police sources, the man had been luring the girl to his house and sexually assaulting her. The matter came to light on Tuesday when the victim’s mother reportedly caught him in the act and filed a complaint at Naxalbari police station.
Following the complaint, police arrested the accused and produced him before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the victim has been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a medical examination.
