Major accident averted in Siliguri as rear wheels of moving school bus detach

Siliguri, 01st April: A major accident was narrowly avoided in Siliguri on Tuesday morning when the rear wheels of a moving school bus detached. Shocked by the sudden incident, no harm was caused to the passengers. The bus was carrying school students at the time of the accident, which took place near Jalpai More.

According to reports, the school bus was on its way to drop students at a school in Fulbari. Near Jalpai More, the rear two wheels of the bus came off, but the bus continued to move a little further ahead. Upon receiving the news, the police from the Jalpai More Traffic Guard arrived at the scene.

Following the incident, the school management has been avoiding responsibility, stating that the buses are hired from vendors. The schools claim they have inspected them, but many times, untrained or intoxicated drivers have been seen operating these buses. Additionally, concerns have been raised regarding the bus documents, with questions about why traffic police have not taken action.
