Alipurduar, 09th November: The Madarihat assembly by-election is approaching, with all opposition parties ramping up their campaigning efforts.
On Saturday, Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Jayaprakash Toppo launched an intense campaign in several areas of Sishujhumra Gram Panchayat in Madarihat. Toppo, along with his supporters and Trinamool activists, campaigned throughout the day, covering various parts of the region, including the local tea gardens.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Rahul Lohar also hit the campaign trail, canvassing in several areas of the Madarihat assembly, including the Khayerbari region. Lohar was joined by Darjeeling MP Raju Bista as they campaigned together in different parts of Madarihat on Saturday.
