Phansidewa, 23rd June: A major road accident occurred early Monday morning on the Rangapani-Ghoshpukur state road, where a gravel-laden lorry rammed into the rear of a stationary cement-laden truck. One person, the lorry driver, was critically injured in the incident.
According to reports, the truck was parked on the roadside when the lorry, coming at high speed, collided with it from behind. The impact left the driver trapped inside the lorry cabin.

On receiving information, personnel from Phansidewa police station and the Matigara fire department rushed to the spot. After a rescue operation lasting nearly three hours, the injured driver was pulled out from the mangled vehicle and shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for treatment.
Traffic movement was temporarily disrupted on the route following the accident.
