Illegal construction demolished in Birpara Police Line area of Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 20th September: The district administration carried out another demolition of illegal structures in the Birpara Police Line area of Alipurduar.

Reportedly, the demolition took place around 10:30 a.m. on Friday in Block No. 01 of the area. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the district administration has been actively removing illegal constructions that encroach on government land across various parts of Alipurduar district. Over the past two months, several illegal structures in the Birpara Police Line area have been demolished.

Earlier, the administration had ordered the partial demolition of an illegal construction but had left the rest intact. However, due to inaction after the initial order, the remaining illegal construction was completely demolished.

During the demolition, the administration faced protests from local residents. Alipurduar Sub-Divisional Officer Biplab Sarkar was present at the scene during the operation.
