Rajganj, 07th December: Panic spread in Rajganj after a massive fire broke out at a tea leaf factory in Shikarpur in the early hours of Sunday.
According to sources, heaps of coal ash stacked behind the factory suddenly caught fire and quickly spread to a section of the pipeline. Within moments, the flames intensified, causing significant damage to the pipeline used in garden operations. The estimated loss is reported to be over ₹5 lakh.
Upon noticing the fire, workers immediately alerted the Jalpaiguri fire department. A fire engine rushed to the spot along with police personnel from the Belakoba outpost. The blaze was brought under control after prompt efforts by the fire brigade.
