Fear spreads in Rajganj after BLO strikes a line on SIR enumeration form

Rajganj, 22 November: Panic spread in Rajganj after a line from the BLO’s affidavit on the SIR enumeration form was struck off. The incident occurred on Saturday in Sahebpara area of Ambari, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat, Rajganj block.

Allegations suggest that while submitting the SIR enumeration forms, the Block Level Officer (BLO) struck off a line from the affidavit before accepting the forms. Locals claim there is no rule allowing such alterations, creating fears that it could lead to major complications regarding their voting rights.

Residents said the struck line stated that they had verified the above details against the latest SIR voter list. Its removal has caused anxiety among them, and they demand a clear explanation. They also plan to approach the BDO regarding the matter.

However, BLO Dulal Mondal stated that according to the guidelines, they can strike off the line while accepting the form, and there is no reason for concern.
