Dispute over road work in Naxalbari resolved after mediation

Naxalbari, 09th April: The dispute between the locals and the Sahakari Sabhapati over road work in Naxalbari has finally been resolved.

Reportedly, with financial assistance from the North Bengal Development Department, construction work has started on a 2.3-kilometer road from Rajiv More in Boro Maniram Jote in Naxalbari to Santoshi Mata Temple in Ketugabur Jote. Local residents and panchayat members had earlier accused Sajni Subba, the Sahakari Sabhapati of the Panchayat Samiti, of obstructing the road work.

Following this, a meeting was held on Wednesday between both parties under the mediation of the Sabhadhipati of Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, through which the issue was resolved.

Local panchayat member Ajay Das mentioned that the conflict was due to a misunderstanding and has now been settled. The Sahakari Sabhapati also shared the same sentiment.
